A dear pastor once said something I will never forget: The two most important decisions your children will ever make are (1) what they will do with Jesus Christ, and (2) who they will marry.
Today, let’s focus on the first—and most foundational—decision: their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Scripture is clear that Jesus is the only way to the Father. John 14:6 says that Jesus is the way and the truth and the life and no one come to the Father except through him. Do you believe that? Why does it matter? What does Jesus offer that life without Him never can?
Jesus gives us assurance of eternity. Every human heart longs to know what happens after death. In Christ, we are given the promise of eternal life. Do you have that assurance?
Jesus gives us forgiveness. Through His sacrifice, every sin—every failure, every wrong choice—is washed clean. God loves us so deeply that He sent His Son to pay the price for our redemption (John 3:16). Do you know you’ve been forgiven?
Jesus gives us joy, peace, and direction. Through the Holy Spirit, He places a compass within us—guidance, clarity, conviction, and comfort. Without Him, we wander. With Him, we walk in peace. What is guiding your life today?
I want these gifts for myself, and I want them for my children. When I leave this world, I take nothing with me except those I love who are in Christ. Ultimately, each person must choose Jesus for themselves.
If you’ve never made that decision, you can do so right now. Romans 10:9 says that if we confess Jesus as Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. You may pray: “Dear Jesus, I confess my need for You. I accept Your gift of salvation and ask You to be Lord of my life. I believe You died and rose again for my sin. Amen.”
